Physical Education

Please find below more information regarding PE at Orchard Grove Primary School

A high-quality PE curriculum inspires all children to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for all children to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness as well as developing values and transferrable life skills such as fairness and respect. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed such values and skills.

At Orchard Grove, our aim is to ensure all children enjoy and are engaged in PE and sport. Through PE we aim to develop the children’s knowledge, skills and understanding, so that they can perform skills with increasing confidence and competence in a range of physical activities. We aim to improve health and well-being, promote active participation and lifelong learning, and for each child to fulfil their potential.

We aim to ensure that the children’s experience of PE is positive and motivating and that children’s attitudes to a healthy lifestyle are firmly embedded in our curriculum.  Through a wide range of extra curricular activities offered at Orchard Grove, children get to further embed their PE learning.
